Bigger than 10,000 staff at three of the biggest US carmakers hold started strike action, their union says.
Work has been stopped at three vegetation owned by Total Motors (GM), Ford and Stellantis.
It came after labour contracts expired on Thursday night. The United Autoworkers Union (UAW) talked about the firms had no longer indicate acceptable offers.
The union had sought a 40% pay elevate for its roughly 140,000 contributors over four years, noting a connected upward push in pay for company leaders.
Last month, 97% of the union’s contributors voted to authorise a strike.
